In my family, I’m the odd ball. I’m always at my computer, and if I’m not, I’m at a magic the gathering tournament. I love geeky board games like talisman and settlers of catan. I would love to play D&D, but no body does it where I live. I’m a certified nerd, and I love it.
Unfortunate as it is, I am the only member of the family with this trait. But every now and then, my brothers and sister dip their toes in the nerd puddle and they like what it offers.
Unfortunately, my little sister hides the fact that she likes the nerdy things. My little brother Zayne idolizes Phillip so, his nerdy side is becoming more apparent.
So right now, Phillip, Abbey and Zayne are all playing settlers of catan. I couldn’t be prouder. It seems that the nerdier things are bringing is closer together as a family. I love moments like these, and they serve to remind me how much I truly love my family.
